Woodfield Academy- “count -down” on schedule.

Dear parents, carers, staff and pupils.

As conversion to Academy status draws nearer, I have some more information regarding recent developments.

We have now held our final part of formal consultation and “TUPE” meeting. In this meeting, a representative from the Local Authority gave a presentation to the staff explaining the situation regarding contracts and pensions etc. Members of the regional Trade Unions were also present.

The meeting was very successful and the school was praised for the preparation work it has been doing over the last few months by providing information and holding regular consultations and meetings. The Local Authority, the Union Representatives and also our conversion partner all commented on how we had really “gone the extra mile”, to keep everyone informed from day one.

The price of a school lunch will be £2.10 from the 1st April 2012.

Dear Parent/Guardian

For over 13 years Class Catering has worked in partnership with schools across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and surrounding counties to deliver a high standard of school lunch. I am sure parents and children have both seen a continuous improvement in the menu and many children enjoy a school lunch every day. This is very encouraging and we hope that even more children will join us and benefit from having a hot meal at school in the next term and for the future. We do believe they are a healthier and cheaper alternative to packed lunches.

In December 2011 Woodfield Middle School was selected as one of only ten schools nationwide to participate in judging the annual Blue Peter Book of the Year Award. The results were announced on Thursday 1st March in a Blue Peter special 'World Book Day' broadcast on the CBBC channel. View Episode Here.
